When Dwight Howard signed with the Rockets, he was excited about getting involved with the Houston community.
The holidays are a perfect time to spread some cheer. As part of the Rockets’ annual Season of Giving, Howard was one of three Rockets players to hold their own events on Sunday (James Harden and Jeremy Lin did so as well). Through his D12 Foundation, Howard treated women and children from the Salvation Army Family Residence to a catered breakfast from the popular Houston eatery, the Breakfast Klub.
Following breakfast, it was the big finale when Howard handed out gifts.
"Leaving a footprint in the community means much more than just playing basketball, and that's one of the big reasons why I try to do as much as I can because I care and I'm not just here for basketball," Howard said.
