The Rockets announced today the return of Gersson Rosas to the basketball operations department to co-lead the Rockets scouting and dlayer dersonnel department along with Gianluca Pascucci.

"It's good to be home," Rosas said during a conversation with the media before Thursday night' game with Memphis. "(I'm) very thankful to Leslie Alexander and Daryl Morey and the rest of the organization. This is home. There's some unfinished work to do and I'm excited to be back to do it."

Rosas spent nine years with Rockets, most recently as the Vice President of Player Personnel. He returns as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. He left the Rockets to take the general manager position with the Dallas Mavericks this past offseason. But after just three months on the job, he resigned.

"The Dallas Mavericks are a great organization, it just wasn't the right fit," Rosas said of his short stint in Dallas. "That's life sometimes. It just didn't work out."

He was clearly excited about his return to Houston and noted his feelings about the organization and the owner welcoming him back.

"This is home and (Rockets owner) Leslie (Alexander) did not have to do this," Rosas said. "At the end of the day, the big picture was they know where my heart is and they know that I'm committed to this organization, so the opportunity to come back was special.

"I think there's a great team that's been put together on the floor and there's a great team in the front office," Rosas said. "The name of the game is talent, we have to finish what we started. I think this is a year of development and maturation for this team. I think there's major championship expectations, but it takes time. I'm excited to have this opportunity to come back and finish that task."
