The Rockets will wear green bands on their jerseys in honor of Sasha McHale when they play the Raptors on Tuesday night.

Kevin McHale's daughter passed away on Saturday afternoon at the age of 23. She had been battling lupus. Green was her favorite color. She wore the number 32 on her high school jersey, which makes it fitting considering that was her father's jersey number wearing Celtic green.

The team is flying out overnight to Minnesota to reunite with their head coach for the funeral on Wednesday morning before departing immediately from the funeral for their game that same night in Oklahoma City.

"It'll be tough," Chandler Parsons said. "But it's something that we have to do as a team and that we feel is 100 percent necessary. We need to be there for him. He's our head coach and we're close with his family, so there's no other way to do it."

Jeremy Lin added, "It's to show that we support him. We want to make sure that he feels that. So us going there to show our support him, you know, he's our head coach. We've got to be there for him. He'd do the same for us."

Kelvin Sampson hasn't spoken with McHale since the trip was finalized but says the head coach has been informed by Rockets GM Daryl Morey. Sampson says he expects things will be emotional on Wednesday when players and coach reunite in such tough times.
