The Rockets have sent forward Greg Smith to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, their D-League affiliate.

Smith, 6-10 out of Fresno State, is averaging 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 44 games with the Rockets this year.

As a rookie Smith played well with the Vipers in 2011-12. He averaged 16.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.15 blocks in 26 games and was selected as a D-League All-Star.
