The Rockets have officially assigned rookie Royce White to the team's Developmental League affiliate, the Rio Grande Vipers.

TNT reporter David Aldridge tweeted that this assignment is a part of a "multi-week" plan to work White back into the organization.

White, 21, was the 16th pick in this year's NBA draft but has notably battled with anxiety issues.

In mid-November, White took to his Twitter account frequently to voice his displeasure of the Rockets' handling of his anxiety issues.

"If he doesn't work out, then it's tough to lose a draft choice," Rockets owner Leslie Alexander said in November.
