Patrick Beverley expects to return on Monday. And if he does, he'll be the Rockets' starting point guard.

Beverley, after participating in Sunday's practice, said he's ready to play on Monday and head coach Kevin McHale said Beverley will start.

With Beverley's starting, Jeremy Lin will be back to his reserve role, providing a spark off the bench.

"I thougt Jeremy had a great stint when he was coming off the bench with the second unit," McHale said, "giving them scoring and I thought ... and that's what I want to get back to. I thought that was some of the best basketball we've played."

Beverley has missed 14 games since breaking his hand on Dec. 21 against Detroit. He was expected to miss four to six weeks. The Rockets have gone 9-5 without Beverley, who is averaging 9.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists this season.

"I feel good," said Beverley, who admitted he is a little anxious to return. "Happy to be out there with my teammates and practice today. It felt good, got a good sweat in, got some good work in today. Ready for tomorrow."
