The Houston Rockets have their final cuts and announced their opening night roster. They waived a pair of veterans, center Marcus Camby and guard Reggie Williams. Camby had been dealing with a left foot injury that will require surgery and had not appeared in a game during the preseason. He had also been unable to practice.
Williams played in two preseason games, scoring nine points on 3-for-9 shooting. He had signed as a free agent on July 19.
The roster now stands at 15. Veteran newcomers to the team are center Dwight Howard, forwards Ronnie Brewer and Omri Casspi. A pair of rookies also make the roster, although both guard Isaiah Canaan and forward Robert Covington are expected to spend significant time with the Rockets NBA Developmental League team in the Rio Grande Valley.
Opening night is Wednesday at Toyota Center when they face the Charlotte Bobcats at 7 p.m.
