As expected, the Rockets did not pick up the final season of Chandler Parsons' contract, CSNHouston's Adam Wexler has confirmed.

Parsons becomes a restricted free agent. The Rockets would have three days to match an offer sheet from another team.

The Rockets still intend to bring Parsons back next season.

"I've worked my whole life to be in the situation," Parsons said earlier this offseason. "I think everything will work itself out. I just have to continue to get better. It's really out of my control, we're talking a lot back and forth, that's really up to (GM Daryl Morey). So it's out of my control."

The Rockets did not pick up Troy Daniels' option either. Daniels was a young sharpshooter for the Rockets as a rookie in 2013-14.

Also, Francisco Garcia, 32, is opting out of his contract but that doesn't rule out a return.

"Hopefully, I like it here. I like it here, its a good home for me," Garcia said after last season about a possible return to Houston. "We got great guys here. Great guys in the locker room, great players and great talent. It is frustrating we have to go home early. We need to understand, we need to take this to heart that next year we have to come in with the mindset that have to win a championship."
