Changed film tactics lead to two straight wins (Chinese)
In this edition of the Mandarin Minute, Howard Chen AKA 陳定豪 describes how a changed tactic helped the Rockets along on their way to two straight wins.
Coming off a seven-game losing streak, spirits were down. So instead of focusing on all the negatives, Kevin McHale decided to switch things up. He showed the team videos from when the team executed his philosophies correctly.
This positive energy has led to two straight wins: one coming Friday against the Hornets, the other coming Saturday against the Nets.
Saturday's win was extremely complete. Three Rockets had at least seven assists. If you take away Jeremy Lin's turnovers, the Rockets had a total of only five turnovers. James Harden had 29 points and seven assists with NO turnovers. This was huge since Harden usually has a high turnover total.
Chandler Parsons had 16 points and 11 assists. The assists number represented a career high. Lin was also solid with 14 points and nine assists. He had a steal on Saturday and six steals on Friday. Lin now ranks third in the league in average steals a game.
Omer Asik controlled the inside for the Rockets. He had 20 points and 16 rebounds. The Rockets outrebounded the Nets by 19, 50-31.
Such a complete game meant a very complete win for the Rockets. They now take their two-game winning streak into Utah to play the Jazz on Monday evening.
