Highlights: Rockets drop one to Nuggets
The Rockets turned the ball over a bunch and kept on doing so throughout on their way to a 105-95 loss to the Nuggets.
James Harden finished with 23 points and seven assists, but he also had seven turnovers. As a team, the Rockets had 22 turnovers.
The Rockets were within two points at 59-57 in the third quarter. Then, the Nuggets made a 13-2 run. From that point on, the wheels came off. Denver outscored Houston 36-22 in that third quarter.
FROM THE FIELD
The Rockets were 37-83 from the field for 45 percent. From distance, they were 11-for-34. They actually started out pretty hot from the outside at 6-13, but the finish wasn’t so amazing.
AT THE LINE
On the bright side, the Rockets hit their free throws, hitting 10-13. The Nuggets focused a ton on limiting Harden’s free throw trips and they succeeded. Harden only had five free throw attempts. He hit all of them.
Harden had a nice through-the-lane dunk. Javale McGee had a million dunks for Denver. At least, that’s what it felt like. He’ll be making the national highlights.
The Rockets have a practice day before going to New Orleans to take on the Hornets on Friday. The Hornets only have 14 wins on the year, but they’ve been a lot better with Eric Gordon back in the lineup. They’ve won seven of their last nine heading into Wednesday night’s action.
