Rockets continue to beat up on the East
The Rockets continued their domination of the Eastern Conference with a 123-104 win over the Hawks on Monday night.
Houston's record at the end of the calendar year 2012 is now 17-14. Their record against teams from the Western Conference is 5-12. Against teams from the Eastern Conference, that mark improved with Saturday's win to 12-2.
"If we could move about 700 miles east, we'd be okay, right?" Kevin McHale joked. "For us, when teams play a certain style, it fits how we play where we're comfortable. When teams get out and pressure us and run with us, sometimes we'll turn it over. The game gets a little fast for us. We've matched up pretty well with the teams from the East, but i'm sure if we played them more, it would all equal out."
"I think every game is a challenge for us," James Harden said. "We don't worry about the East or the West. We worry about getting the wins and every single game, taking our approach to do whatever it takes to win the game, so tonight was another good game and Wednesday (their next game against the Hornets) is going to be another tough matchup for us, but as long as we move the ball, play together, and get some stops on the defensive end, we'll be alright."
