Glen Rice, Jr.'s first stop in the NBA will be with the Washington Wizards.
Rice was selected 35th overall, in the second round, Thursday night by the 76ers. Philadelphia then traded his rights to the Wizards, just a part of the busy day for former Rockets Executive VP of Basketball Operations Sam Hinkie in his first draft as the GM of the 76ers.
Rice spent this past season honing his skills with the Rockets' D-League affiliate in Rio Grande Valley. For the season, he averaged 13 points and just over six rebounds. He closed the year strong, however, including a 25 point-per-game pace and a rebounding average of 9.5 rebounds in the playoffs to help lead the Vipers to the D-League championship.
