Longtime San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will coach the Western Conference All-Stars, including James Harden, on Sunday, Feb. 17 in Houston.

It is the third time Popovich has coached the Western Conference. He also coached the West in 2005 and 2011.

The Spurs beat the Bobcats on Wednesday night to improve to 37-11, which will insure they'll have the best record in games played through Feb. 3. Scott Brooks, Oklahoma City's coach, was not eligible to coach because he coached last season.

In his 17th NBA season, Popovich has led the Spurs to four NBA championships and owns a 924-410 regular season record. His 924 wins rank him second all-time. Popovich is 1-1 as the head coach in the All-Star game.

The East coach will be determined by whichever Eastern Conference coach's team has the best record by Feb. 3.
