McHale after the win in New Orleans
It was a unified effort by the Rockets to get things on the right track. Included among this was Patrick Patterson's best effort in several months.
The power forward scored 18 points and tied a career high with 13 rebounds. This was particularly refreshing with all the frustration coming off the team's recent skid. Patterson had opened up about what the team needed to do. On Friday night, he manned up.
Patterson worked the inside. He worked the glass. He blocked shots. He guarded his man. He hit his jump shots. And he had an aggressive nature about him that embodied the team's mentality for the night.
Basically, not only did Patterson talk about what he needed to do, but on Friday, he went out and led by example. This was quite possibly Patterson's best all-around game since December 1 against Utah, when he scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had three blocked shots.
