Lin and Parsons react to Wednesday's trades
It probably looked worse than it was.
Chandler Parsons had to be helped off the floor in the third quarter after turning his ankle pretty badly when he stepped on the back of Kevin Martin’s foot.
But Parsons was able to rejoin his team on the floor to finish the game with 17 points and six rebounds.
“It’s sore. It’s really sore,” Parsons said after the game in the locker room. “It’s more like my foot. I’ve never really sprained an ankle like that so I’m just glad it’s not too serious and I’m just going to continue to do a lot of rehab and hopefully not miss any time.”
The Rockets were short-handed after two trades had them down four bodies for the game against the Thunder but Parsons said that didn’t play a role in his returning to the court on Wednesday.
“There’s no way I was going to miss the game,” he said. “Once I got X-rays and saw the doctors and they said it couldn’t get worse, so I tried to just tough it out and get it taped more serious and just go out and help my team win.”
Parsons said he planned on continuing the rehab on his right ankle and would take a wait-and-see approach. The Rockets practice on Thursday at the Toyota Center and will be in Brooklyn on Friday night to take on the Nets.
