Chandler Parsons has been invited to a Team USA mini camp in July.
The Rockets' forward confirmed that he is on the list of the invited, a list that hasn't yet been officially released. Milwaukee's Larry Sanders is also confirmed to be one of the players invited, as he tweeted the following earlier on Thursday:
There are more ppl that want it then ppl that have it.. So when you see it better grab it and make it a habit!— Nappy Gilmore(@LarrySanders) May 23, 2013
About 25 players will attend this USA Basketball Select Team camp on July 22-25 in Las Vegas with hopes of possibly making the team for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and then the 2016 Olympic team headed to Rio de Janeiro.
Parsons confirmed the news by text, saying that it's a "huge honor to be invited to work out with Team USA. Very excited to go and work out with the best players in the NBA."
The former Florida Gator made a huge leap in his second season in the NBA, averaging 15.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and improving his free-throw percentage by almost 18 percent.
