The first returns for all-star balloting have been released with Houston Rockets center, Dwight Howard (295,120), among the top three vote-getters in the frontcourt for the Western Conference. Howard is a 7-time all-star and has started each of the last six all-star games.

Forward Chandler Parsons (77,179) is 11th and center Omer Asik (53,827) is 15th among Western Conference frontcourt players. Neither player has appeared in an all-star game in their careers.

Guards Jeremy Lin (240,404) and James Harden (198,667) are fourth and fifth, respectively among Western Conference backcourt players. Harden was a first-time all-star last season and Lin is looking for his first all-star selection.

Harden is the leading scorer among Western Conference guards at 24.6 points per game. Lin is third among Western Conference players in backcourt in scoring off the bench at 14.8 points per game.

The 63rd NBA All-Star Game will be exclusively televised on TNT from New Orleans Arena on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014.
