Recently drafted Rocket Nick Johnson, during his introductory press conference on Monday, began answering a question about Pat Beverley and started to mention a congratulatory tweet from Beverley.

“Don’t mention Twitter, Nick. It’s going to get a follow up question,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey interjected, which earned a chuckle from those in the know.

See, Johnson, while still at Arizona, sent out a tweet criticizing his new teammate and Rockets star James Harden. The tweet from April 25 (which has since been deleted) said: “James Harden plays noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo defense”

Awkward, right? Well, Morey said Harden is fine with it now.

“By the way, James Harden, when we picked Nick, said ‘I’m very excited about this pick,’ so they’ve already moved on,” Morey said.

Has Johnson talked to Harden about the tweet?

“No. I haven’t talked about that,” said Johnson, who is known for his defense. “I had a chance when I was growing up, he was at ASU, so I had the chance to watch him play his first two seasons there. He’s a superstar.”
