Rockets center Omer Asik is unavailable for Saturday night’s game against the Nuggets, according to Rockets head coach Kevin McHale.

“(Omer) will not play tonight,” McHale said. “He’s not available tonight.”

McHale said Asik did not go through shoot-around. When asked if Asik was under the weather, McHale slowly said, "Yes, he is under the weather."

“He had a great year last year and to bring in someone over him, it’s got to be a little frustrating,” Chandler Parsons said following Saturday’s shoot-around. “But it’s part of business and you have to be professional about it.

“He’s been fine to me, I kind of stay out of it. He’s frustrated a little bit right now. He’s going to play a lot of minutes, I don’t know what he’s so upset about. He’s got to come out here and perform and be a professional about it.”

All signs point to Asik’s recent reported trade demands at the root of this uncertainty with Asik’s current place on the team, but the team has not commented on his condition.
