Mayor Annise Parker meets James Harden

Tickets to this year's NBA All-Star Jam Session started to go on sale on Monday morning, and Houston Mayor Annise Parker was at the Toyota Center to help celebrate the special moment.

Parker made a ceremonial purchase of her tickets from James Harden and former Rockets legend Clyde Drexler.

Speaking of Rockets legends, Drexler, Calvin Murphy, Robert Horry and Steve Francis were also part of the event, signing autographs for fans at the Toyota Center.

Monday was Parker's first time meeting Harden, though she had seen him many times on TV.

"He seems like a really together young man," Parker said. "Really dynamic."

NBA All-Star Jam Session is a four-day interactive basketball event taking place at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Feb. 14-17 and features more than 500,000 square feet of NBA All-Star excitement. The event features appearances by the NBA’s favorite players, celebrities, mascots and dance teams as they take the court in a variety of basketball competitions.
