Jeremy Lin talks about return to Rockets' lineup
The Rockets point guard tandem has been acting much more like a wrestling tag team duo then basketball teammates.
Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks, starting point guard Pat Beverley will miss the first of many games after he fractured his right wrist against Detroit on Saturday. He's expected to miss four-to-six weeks. Jeremy Lin will return to the lineup after missing the last four games with back spasms and start for Beverley.
The game versus the Mavericks will be the 14th game this year where only one of them has appeared. They have both played in the same game just 15 times.
"This was our target date," Lin said. "We weren't sure always, but we were pretty sure as long as we didn't have setbacks it was a reasonable date. It feels better.
He suffered the injury versus Golden State on Dec. 13, and did not express much concern that this injury will linger following his return.
James Harden also will miss his second game after suffering a sprained ankle against Sacramento on Dec. 15. He played the following game against Chicago, but had the ankle stepped on early in that game. He then played against Indiana on Friday night, but was just 3-of-14 shooting and struggled with his ankle.
"I just couldn't move, I was just kind of slow (against the Pacers)," Harden said. "I couldn't cut how I wanted to. I couldn't be explosive like I wanted to.
"It just needs time to heal and get strong. Hopefully, it'll be ready for Christmas (versus San Antonio),"
