Kevin McHale after the Rockets' huge win

One of the many things to go right for the Rockets on Monday night was their defense.

"It was one of those nights where a lot of stuff went our way," Kevin McHale said. "We played hard. We played the right way. We moved the ball. I thought, defensively-wise, Jeremy Lin did a really nice job of helping out and trying to sag off and make Watson and Tinsley make a few shots. He did a really nice job of clogging up and being a safety for us."

Earl Watson and Jamaal Tinsley combined to make two shots for six points. Meanwhile, Lin finished with 12 points (on a perfect 5-5 performance), seven assists, and three steals.

Omer Asik's defensive presence was also noticeable. Not only did he swallow up the glass with a career-high-tying 19 rebounds, but Al Jefferson was essentially shut down with Asik on the floor. Big Al finished with 10 points and eight rebounds, but most of his production came when Asik was not on the floor. The Rockets won the rebounding battle 44-39.

Those two players weren't alone in their defensive prowess. The team, as a whole, stepped it up on defense, offense... they certainly had it going on on Saturday night.
