What happened to Jeremy Lin's minutes?

Jeremy Lin is saying all the right things after playing only 18 minutes on Saturday night.

The point guard described his performance afterwards.

"I just try to go out there and play hard," Lin said. "I'm not disappointed in my effort."

Sure enough, Lin's 18 minutes had some highlight-worthy moments. He hit a couple of outside jumpers, had two steals, and made some nice passes. He just spent most of the game watching from the sidelines.

"That's a coach thing," he said. "It's their decision. I totally respect that and we're all in it together. We're on a team. Everyone goes through their ups and downs, but we lost the game tonight and that has to be the focus for all of us."

As far as what he needs to improve to get more playing time?

"Maybe play harder and maybe play better overall, you know, offense, defense," Lin said. "You know, make more plays on both ends of the floor. I guess be more efficient."

"Jeremy's going to be fine," Kevin McHale said. "That was just a game tonight (Saturday) where I thought that Toney (Douglas) was giving us some good minutes and he was kind of pushing up and he was the one guy who was active who could maybe slow down (O.J.) Mayo. We tried a bunch of people on him. It just seemd like Toney had a good rhythm. Jeremy's going to be fine."
