Rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist left the Bobcats' game against the Rockets early on Saturday after a collision with teammate Jeff Taylor during the fourth quarter.
Kidd-Gilchrist was taken off the court in a neck brace and on a stretcher and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Kidd-Gilchrist was alert and had movement in all of his extremities before leaving the Toyota Center, according to Bobcats' PR. Precautionary X-rays and a CT scan were negative for head and neck injuries. He does have a concussion and will be hospitalized overnight for observations.
The second-overall pick in last year's draft was going up to defend a Toney Douglas layup when Taylor's right hip hit Kidd-Gilchrist in the back of the head.
