Highlights: Jazz fall to Rockets

After last year we certainly don't want Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey to tweet the percentages, but the Rockets playoff chances took one big step closer to becoming a reality with Wednesday's 100-93 win over Utah.

The win puts the Rockets, who are currently seventh in the Western Conference, three games up on the Jazz, who are currently ninth in the standings and the first team out of the playoffs as the standings currently sit. But just as important as the three game edge on the Jazz, the win also gives Houston the season series win against Utah, which gives the Rockets the tie-breaker between the two teams should they wind up tied at the end of the regular season.

The Rockets, who are now 37-31, are one game behind Golden State for the sixth position in the conference after the Warriors fell to San Antonio Wednesday, and are a game and a half ahead of the idle Los Angeles Lakers.

Houston and Los Angeles take the court next Friday night, the Rockets at home against Cleveland while the Lakers play host to Washington. Golden State is idle until Saturday.
