James Harden gives injury update

The Rockets first practice following the return of head coach Kevin McHale, was not much different than most of their practices the last two weeks.

Mainly because they were still dealing with injuries to several players. Guards James Harden (left ankle) and Jeremy Lin (back spasms) both were unable to practice.

McHale said Lin was seeing a specialist for his back injury.

Harden was unsure of his availability for Wednesday's game versus Chicago.

"At night after the game and the next morning it was for me to walk," Harden said. "Now I can walk and kind of jump on it a little bit. I'm just trying to ice it and keep the swelling down."

Harden described it as a high ankle sprain and said he hasn't had a sprain as bad as this one in his NBA career before.

Chandler Parsons wins the award for most injuries as he described his ongoing back problems and thigh injury, while adding a toe injury to his current status.

"I'm banged up, same issue with my thigh and my back," Parsons said. "I had an ingrown toenail removed yesterday, but nothing that's holding me out of practice or is going to keep me from playing any games.

Omer Asik missed another practice with his right thigh contusion, which has kept him out of action since dec. 4.
