Highlights: Rockets take down Hornets

The Rockets almost let one slip away, but withstood a fourth-quarter Hornets charge to win 104-92.

James Harden had his 14th straight game with at least 20 points. He finished with 31 points and seven assists. Omer Asik tied his career high with 21 points and also had eight rebounds. Patrick Patterson had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Turning point
The Hornets had stormed back to tie it up at 84 with just over six minutes left. Houston scored the next six points over the next two minutes and chose that time to make a 17-4 run. Game. Over.

From the field
The Rockets struggled from three-point land (5-24), but overall, they were 41-83 from the field (49 percent).
At the line
The Rockets were so-so from the line, going 17-for-23 (74 percent). Harden and Asik were particularly effective in getting to the stripe.

Highlight reel
Harden had  numerous dunks in this one. Two nice ones came in the first half, the second of which came off a nice Jeremy Lin steal and feed up ahead. Greg Smith did his usual sick nasty funktastic dunk. Toney Douglas did his usual sick nasty behind-the-back, over-the-shoulder craziness that he somehow coaxes in.
Up next
The Rockets now take to the road when they face the Bucks on Friday. Heading into Wednesday night, Milwaukee sat sixth in the East with a 16-13 record.
