James Harden will miss Saturday night's game against Minnesota with a sore left foot. His status for the Rockets game at Memphis on Monday, is still unknown.

Jeremy Lin will start in Harden's place.

Lin started for Harden earlier this year in Philadelphia when Harden was held out for the same sore left foot. In that game, Lin tied the franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a game with nine. He was 9-of-15 from behind the 3-point line and had 34 points. Each of those marks a season-best for Lin. The nine 3-pointers made are a career high.

Center Greg Smith (sprained right knee) and Ronnie Brewer (strained right calf) are also out on Saturday night.

Houston will have only 10 players in uniform. The two players on their inactive list, guard Isaiah Canaan and forward Robert Covington, are with their D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Vipers open their season tonight in Los Angeles.
