Royce White was officially released by the 76ers on Friday.

White was one of four Sixers to be released but the former Rocket was the biggest surprise.

The Rockets traded White, the 16th overall pick in the 2012 draft, in early July. White had a turbulent season in the Rockets organization in 2012. He never played for the Rockets but played with Rio Grande Valley in the D-league. White averaged 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 16 games with the Vipers last season. White had several disagreements with the Rockets' front office surrounding his anxiety disorder and treatment for it.

The 6-8 forward also has a a fear of flying, which contributed to him missing time with the Sixers preseason.

In five games (one start) with the Sixers this preseason, White averaged five points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
