Lin: Defense needs to step up vs. Lakers
Defense was not the Rockets' strength when they last played the Lakers on Nov. 18 and lost 119-108.
They aim to change things on Tuesday night.
"We scored 60 points in the first half. They scored 68," Kelvin Sampson said of their previous matchup. "Our guys felt like we played pretty good. I'm sitting there going, well, if we held them to 50, we'd be up 10."
Jeremy Lin said defense was a huge point of emphasis during Monday's practice.
"We did a lot of defensive stuff today," Lin said. "We broke down the areas where we break down the most and then we just drilled it today.
"I actually think being more defensive minded would make us even better offensively," he continued. "Getting those stops, we're great at running and there's no better chance to run when you get steals or defensive rebounds."
