The bench picked up a struggling starting unit to lead the Rockets over the Lakers 107-105.
Toney Douglas scored a season-high 22 points. Greg Smith scored a career-high 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting with nine rebounds. Carlos Delfino scored 15.
Those three scored more than the five starters' 48 points on 17-56 (30.4 percent) shooting.
"On most nights, the first unit... we get all the glory, whatever, we play the most, etcetera, etcetera" Jeremy Lin said. "But on nights like this, man, you've got to be really, really happy for your teammates because they worked so hard. Greg, Carlos coming back injury. Toney, aw man, they worked hard just like we worked hard and so, it's great to see them out there doing their thing, and I think we're all really, really happy for them and they deserve it. They got this win for us tonight."
In all, the bench scored 59 points.
"I think tonight was special because the starters were struggling with shots," Delfino said. "We were able to make up those mistakes and put the team in the game again, and it's great.
"Playing on the bench and when you have a victory like this, on the bench, especially like it was today, it's such a special feeling."
