Fresh off a three-game rehab assignment at Double A Corpus Christi, Carlos Corporan is in the Houston lineup on Monday at catcher, batting eighth against Seattle right-hander Taijuan Walker. Corporan was placed on the disabled list after sustaining a concussion on Aug. 19 at Texas when he was struck in the head on a foul tip. Also in Houston’s starting lineup is right fielder Jimmy Paredes, who was one of four players the club recalled from Triple A Oklahoma City following Saturday’s game at Oakland. Right-hander Jarred Cosart is making his 10th start of the season for the Astros, who are 3-4 at Safeco Field this season and 6-10 overall versus Seattle.

Tonight is the 18th of a stretch of 20 games in 20 days for both the Astros and Mariners. The 21-year-old Walker won his major league debut Aug. 30 at Houston, allowing no earned runs in five innings. Shortstop Brad Miller is batting leadoff for the Mariners and Kyle Seager, batting third, will be making his 97th consecutive team start at third base. Miller has 25 multi-hit games despite not making his major league debut until June 26. Raul Ibanez is batting fifth and playing left field. Ibanez has 27 home runs in his age-41 season. That total trails only Ted Williams (29 homers, 1960, age 41) and Barry Bonds (28 homers, 2007, age 42).
